General Project Description

The Upper Valley Waste Management Agency is seeking a qualified contractor to perform a waste characterization study across unincorporated Napa County and the cities of Calistoga, St. Helena, and Yountville. The study involves sampling and sorting materials generated by residential, commercial, and self-haul entities at local transfer stations and landfills within the study area. The objective is to gather baseline data on waste generation and composition to assess variations over time, and to identify specific types of organic, hazardous, and recoverable materials to inform public consumption, legislation, and education campaigns. The contractor will conduct sampling and measurements at Clover Flat Resource Recovery Park/Landfill and Devlin Road Transfer Station. The project aims to identify the diversion potential of various waste streams.
