General Project Description

The project involves providing concrete coring and sampling services to the Department of Water Resources (DWR) for the continuous preventative maintenance of structures and facilities within the State Water Project (SWP) located throughout California. The contractor will cut and extract concrete cores from existing structures for DWR's testing and analysis. Core samples will typically have diameters less than 4 inches, but the contractor must be capable of obtaining samples up to 12 inches in diameter. Additionally, the contractor must provide Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) scanning services to identify and avoid embedded obstructions like reinforcing steel, conduit, and tensioning strands before coring. Services will be authorized via work orders over an anticipated 3-year term.
