General Project Description

This project involves the installation of approximately 3,200 linear feet of 8-inch PVC recycled water main along Flora St, Vine Avenue, and F Street; 5,200 linear feet of 8-inch PVC recycled water main along Euclid Avenue between Holt Boulevard and 4th Street; 500 linear feet of 8-inch PVC along B Street, C Street and E Street; and 11,200 linear feet of 24-inch Cement Mortar Lined/Cement Mortar Coated Welded Steel Pipe (CML/CMC WSP) recycled water main along Riverside Drive between Euclid Avenue and Vineyard Avenue. Additionally, the scope includes converting existing public irrigation systems in various parks, civic center buildings, and medians within the City of Ontario to utilize recycled water. The work encompasses comprehensive civil engineering activities such as mobilization, demobilization, traffic control, preconstruction documentation (audio/video), surveying, potholing, SWPPP implementation, sheeting/shoring, electronic message boards, construction water provision, as-built record drawings, securing various permits (SBCFCD, CEQA, SCE, Gas Company), connection to existing water mains, installation of steel casing, video inspection of pipes, installation of valves (butterfly, gate, air release, vacuum), blow-off assemblies, water service installation, pressure sustaining valves, filling, flushing, hydrostatic testing, addressing outages/shutdowns, temporary and final striping, traffic loop restoration, appurtenance protection, tree removal/disposal, irrigation system conversion, and landscape/irrigation maintenance and planting.
