Orange County Water District is seeking bids from qualified and interested contractors for the following project titled, DESTRUCTION OF WESTBAY MONITORING WELL SAR -3, identified under Solicitation ID: IFQ-25-003. Work is to be performed near 18700 Ward St, Fountain Valley, CA 92708, USA in Orange County.
General Project Description
The Orange County Water District (OCWD) is soliciting quotes for the destruction of Westbay multi-level monitoring well SAR-3, which was constructed in 1988 and is 1,420 feet deep with 11 screen intervals. The well is located in the City of Anaheim adjacent to the Santa Ana River and Angel Stadium. The project involves the complete destruction of the monitoring well in compliance with California Well Standards, including mobilization, demobilization, site preparation, obtaining necessary permits (City of Anaheim Encroachment and Well Destruction Permits), disposal of waste materials (displacement water, vaults, concrete pad/apron, excess soil), pre-disposal analysis of soil and water, and site cleanup and restoration. The work specifically includes removing chain link fencing for access, installing a construction tremie pipe, filling the well with a bentonite-cement sealing material, pressure grouting the well casing, removing the well vault and upper five feet of casing, installing a concrete cap, backfilling with native soil, and repairing any disturbed site features such as fencing, asphalt, curb, sidewalk, irrigation lines, water pipes, and electric lines.

- Quantity: 1420 Unit: Linear Feet Work Item: Pressure grout 4-inch diameter well casing. Specifications: Neat cement with 2% to 5% bentonite, mixed with 3 to 5 pounds of bentonite to 6.5 gallons of water per sack of cement.
- Quantity: 1 Unit: LS Work Item: Excavate around the existing well, remove vault and concrete pad, install cement cap, and back-fill.
