General Project Description
The City of Palo Alto is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide design and consultant services for the renovation of the existing animal shelter. The selected firm will develop construction plans, cost estimates of improvements, and provide construction administration services. The project involves renovations to the cat wing, dog kennels, and medical suite to better support animal services, including reconfiguring cat rooms, adding flexible multi-purpose space, improving air circulation in dog kennels, adding guillotine doors, and adjusting medical suites for larger dogs. The design will also consider the use of modular buildings for additional square footage and adhere to FEMA Flood Zone AE regulations. The consultant's basic services consist of five main tasks: Site Assessment and Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Permitting, and Construction Administration.
