General Project Description
The City of Pasadena Water & Power Department (PWP) is seeking qualified Chemical Consultants to manage and optimize water treatment processes at the Glenarm Power Plant. The project involves providing a comprehensive service-oriented chemical water treatment plan, knowledgeable personnel, chemical products, and training for various power plant systems, including condensate, feedwater, closed cooling water, gas turbines chilled water, gas turbines evaporator cooler make-up, and circulating cooling water systems for Units GT-3, GT-4, and GT-5. The primary objectives are to maximize unit efficiency and availability by minimizing scale, corrosion, fouling, and microbiological growth, ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations, and manage wastewater. Consultants are encouraged to propose environmentally safe (Green Chemistry) products or programs. The scope also includes routine monitoring, equipment inspection, on-site microbiological testing for cooling towers, and providing chemical containers with spill prevention or secondary containment.
