General Project Description

The City of Port Hueneme is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to provide field services for water meter reading for approximately 5,800 residential, commercial, and irrigation accounts. The project involves start-up activities, including staff training, route efficiency confirmation, and integration with the City's "Tyler" utility billing system. The selected contractor will be responsible for monthly meter reading, maintaining necessary apparatus, reporting hazardous conditions, ensuring accurate utility billing processing, generating various meter reading reports (e.g., high/low limits, rereads, damage inspection), providing certified read reports, and ensuring a seamless interface with the utility billing system. The contract duration is for an initial two years with two one-year extension options.
