General Project Description

This project involves open area brush clearing services at six (6) school sites within the Poway Unified School District. The work includes one-time trimming and removal of both native and non-native vegetation. This encompasses clearing small shrubs, tall grasses, and herbaceous plants (up to 6' in height, cut flush to the ground), and trimming large shrubs (taller than 6' to one-third of their total height, up to 4' off the ground). The contractor is responsible for removing all dead, storm-damaged, downed, diseased, deteriorated, or safety hazard vegetation, as well as clearing vegetation within 5' of fence lines and in an 8' diameter around large trees and woody shrubs by cutting flush or removing. Work will be performed using hand and mechanical tools, including skid steers with masticator attachments, on slopes ranging from 20 to 35 degrees. Debris management will involve mulching and leaving material onsite at some locations, while other sites require removal and offsite disposal. The contractor must develop traffic control plans, assess site access and equipment, and ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws and local environmental guidelines. Clean-up of debris must occur daily.
