General Project Description

This project involves the construction of a 16-inch potable water transmission main, including extensive excavation, pipe assembly, trench backfill, and restoration activities. Key tasks include mobilization, demobilization, bonding, insurance, waste material diversion, storm water pollution prevention, traffic control, sheeting, shoring, bracing, clearing and grubbing, concrete pavement removal and replacement, temporary highline installation, and the installation of approximately 13,240 linear feet of 16-inch C900 DR 14 PVC waterline. The project also encompasses numerous connections to existing waterlines of various sizes (18", 6", 14", 10", 20"), installation of inline butterfly valves, combination air release & air/vac valve assemblies, blowoff assemblies, removal and installation of fire hydrants, new water service connections, reconnection and recertification of existing water service connections and backflow devices, installation of a pressure reducing station, and an Olive Booster Pump Station interconnection. The scope further covers compaction testing, pressure testing, pipeline disinfection, dewatering, and an allowance for unforeseen interferences. All construction activities, equipment, installations, and workmanship must comply with detailed Plans and Specifications, including San Diego Water Agencies (WAS) standards.
