General Project Description

The City of Redwood City is requesting bids for thermal imaging-based video detection and monitoring systems for traffic signals. This procurement supports the city's pavement program by replacing existing inductive loop detection systems to avoid saw cutting new pavement. The City plans to purchase a minimum of ten (10) systems for 2026 projects and up to a maximum of 25 systems by December 2028. The scope includes supplying thermal image cameras with integrated AI, broadband power line interface modules, power supplies, cabling, and auxiliary equipment (Base Bid). It also includes bid alternates for cloud-based monitoring equipment, activation/setup/programming support, additional cameras, broadband power line interface cards, and a comprehensive traffic signal monitoring system. The equipment will be installed by the City's on-call electrical contractors.
