General Project Description
The City of Redwood City is soliciting proposals for community engagement and master planning services for the new 8.6-acre Waterfront Park located at 1450 Maple Street. The project requires the consultant to develop and execute a comprehensive community engagement plan and create a master plan for the undeveloped park site. The scope includes project initiation (review of existing plans, studies, and documents), extensive community outreach (surveys, workshops, stakeholder meetings, social media management), design preparation (topographic and boundary surveys, subsurface utility mapping, parcel map recordation, utility recommendations), conceptual design alternatives with cost estimates (30% design level plans), environmental analysis (CEQA determination, biological, geotechnical, hazardous materials, transportation, air quality, noise, and utility assessments), shoreline ecosystem analysis, and integration of existing features like a historical water tank. The project will also address design challenges due to the waterfront proximity, including flood protection requirements and sea level rise. The overall outreach process is anticipated to take a minimum of one year.
