General Project Description
This project is a unit price bid contract for furnishing, installing, removing, and replacing various specified flooring materials throughout multiple educational sites within the Riverside Unified School District. The awarded contractor will provide individual site-specific estimates based on the pre-bid unit rates. The comprehensive scope includes removing existing carpeting and/or tile, preparing subfloors (including patching cracks/holes, leveling, testing for moisture/alkaline content, and primer application), installing new carpet (tile and broadloom), Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT), and sheet vinyl according to manufacturer guidelines and industry standards. It also encompasses the installation of new 4-inch top-set rubber base, cove cap metal, carpet reducers, and stair nosing. Contractors are responsible for protecting adjacent finishes, daily removal of furniture and reinstallation, managing all project-related debris, and are notified of potential lead-containing materials and asbestos, requiring strict compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Work may be required outside of regular school hours or on weekends depending on school schedules.
