General Project Description

This public works project involves the construction of a 16-court pickleball facility at the Sunset Whitney Recreation Area. The scope includes demolition and removal of existing structures, extensive site grading (cut and fill), and the installation of new concrete retaining walls, curbs, sidewalks, and ramps. Key athletic surfacing will include Plexipave sports surfacing for the pickleball courts and treatment for existing tennis court surfaces. The project also encompasses new chain-link fencing, gates, and light fixtures for the pickleball courts, as well as the removal of existing tennis court infrastructure. Essential utility work consists of new underdrain and storm drain systems, water lines, gate valves, water fountains, and associated fittings. Furthermore, the project includes landscaping, irrigation systems, and various site accessories such as bleachers and secure garbage can posts. Traffic control is required as part of the work, and all operations must adhere to Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) guidelines.
