General Project Description

The Sacramento Area Sewer District (SacSewer) is seeking consulting engineering services for the design and construction support of a new digested sludge dewatering facility with necessary appurtenances at the EchoWater Facility. The project aims to improve biosolids management due to changes in sludge characteristics impacting Solids Storage Basins. The consulting services are divided into six phases: Planning, Design, Bid and Award, Construction, Commissioning, and Closeout. The initial RFP covers detailed scope and fee for the first three phases, with subsequent phases to be incorporated via future amendments. Key tasks include project management, Basis of Design Report (BODR) development, Nitrifying Side Stream (NST) Treatment Facility evaluation, Preliminary Design Report (PDR), permitting assistance, risk management plan development, quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), construction cost estimating, construction scheduling, field surveys, geotechnical services, coordination with other projects, and pre-bid/award support.
