General Project Description

The City of San Bernardino is requesting quotes from qualified vendors to furnish and install solar-powered lighting systems at various citywide locations. This initiative supports the City's efforts to improve public safety, promote sustainability, and enhance visibility in energy-deficient areas. The selected vendor will provide all materials, equipment, labor, and incidentals required for the complete installation of durable, high-efficiency solar lighting units in compliance with City standards and specifications over an initial one-year contract, with an option for four additional one-year renewals. The work includes field verification, marking and confirming pole locations, ensuring foundation clearances from utilities and signage, coordinating with City representatives, performing pole erection, and ensuring compliance with Cal/OSHA safety and City Public Works requirements. All lighting systems must operate autonomously, providing 8-10 hours of illumination per night, and components must be new, warranted, and rated for outdoor use (NEC and NTRL/UL/ETL listed). The project also includes final testing and commissioning of all installed systems.
