General Project Description

This project involves approximately 1.2 miles of bikeway and roadway improvements along Central Avenue and Terrace Drive within the City of San Diego. Key features include constructing pedestrian refuge islands, a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) at Orange Avenue, a new cul-de-sac on Central Avenue (converting a one-way street to two-way), 150-feet of new Class IV bike path, speed cushions, concrete curb & gutter, curb ramps, sidewalk improvements, storm water BMPs, landscaping, irrigation system installation, street lighting, metal beam guardrail, traffic signal modifications, signage, and striping. The work also encompasses water pollution control, traffic control, erosion control, clearing and grubbing, roadway excavation, asphalt concrete pavement, wayfinding signage, pavement markings, and procurement and installation of all necessary materials and equipment per project plans.
