General Project Description
The "Old Town to Downtown Rail & Multimodal Corridor Study" aims to evaluate planned projects and identify new opportunities along the Old Town to Downtown Corridor in San Diego. The core objective is to improve safety and connectivity for pedestrians, cyclists, public transit, and local traffic along Pacific Highway and the LOSSAN Corridor. This involves developing and assessing multimodal mobility solutions, enhancing transit priority, and analyzing grade separation opportunities at eleven at-grade rail crossings. The study will prepare detailed work plans, current conditions reports, multimodal corridor alternatives, conceptual designs, cost estimates, and final project study reports. A significant component involves stakeholder and public outreach to gather input and disseminate recommendations for integrated road and rail systems designed for efficient multimodal community connection and increased rail transit frequency.
