General Bid Items

• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: General Landscape Maintenance Services, Specifications: Furnish all necessary labor, materials, tools, equipment, services, disposal fees, and transportation. Maintain the overall health of plants, trees, and turf.
• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Plant Material Health Monitoring, Specifications: Conduct weekly inspections for insects, disease, stress, or damage to turf and plant materials. Notify COUNTY of declining plant material within one (1) business day.
• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Turf Mowing, Specifications: Maintain warm season grasses at 2-3 inches, cool season grasses at 3-4 inches. Mow weekly from March through November, and bi-monthly from December through February, weather permitting. Reschedule missed mowing within three (3) business days on the weekly schedule and seven (7) calendar days.
• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Turf Edging, Specifications: Mechanically edge all grass along infrastructure (walls, fences, foundations, curbs, sidewalks, shrubs, poles, guy wires, irrigation boxes, utility boxes, drain grates) with no gaps wider than 1/4 inch.
• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Turf String Trimming, Specifications: Reduce string trimming effort. Use vertical cut around valve boxes or drain inlets. Do not use around tree bases; chemical control preferred.
• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Clipping and Debris Removal, Specifications: Remove clippings from all adjacent walkways and paved surfaces immediately after mowing/edging. Remove litter or debris from the area prior to mowing.

• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: General Pruning, Specifications: Perform all pruning by qualified personnel using International Society of Arboriculture methods. Complete pruning at least three (3) times per year (Jan-Apr, May-Aug, Sep-Dec) on a scheduled basis. Remove old or dead growth and/or spent flowers.
• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Shrub Pruning, Specifications: Maintain shrubs along fences, windows, and walls at appropriate plant height (no higher than fence/wall). Prune to prevent encroachment on sidewalks or walkways and maintain drivers' line of sight at intersections.
• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Shrub Replacement, Specifications: Remove and replace dead shrubs with a similar species within thirty (30) days. Contractor to replace at their own expense if shrubs die due to their work performance.
• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Playground and Horseshoe Pit Area Maintenance, Specifications: Keep all playground and horseshoe pit areas free of debris and weeds. Rake engineered wood fiber weekly to ensure even distribution.
• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Baseball and Softball Field Dirt Area Maintenance, Specifications: Keep dirt areas (infields, dugouts, basepaths, pitching mounds) free of debris and weeds.

• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Tree Well Maintenance, Specifications: Keep tree wells turf and weed-free 18 inches from the trunk. Do not use line trimmers around tree bases.
• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Tree Pruning, Specifications: Prune branches below 8 ft, branches interfering with pedestrian or vehicle traffic (below 14 ft), suckers, waterspouts, undesirable growth, dead or damaged branches, and any branches deemed a hazard. Do not prune saplings without COUNTY direction.
• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Tree Stake and Tie Maintenance, Specifications: Maintain existing stakes and ties. Inspect to prevent girdling or bark wounds. Install and maintain additional stakes/ties (County to provide). Contractor to replace damaged stakes at their expense.
• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Leaf Clearing, Specifications: Do not clear leaves from under existing oak trees. Blow leaves from nearby sidewalks or walkways into existing oak tree areas unless directed otherwise.
• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Green Waste Disposal, Specifications: Contractor responsible for all green waste disposal at their expense. Track amount and manner of disposal and provide data monthly to COUNTY.

• Quantity: -  Unit: -  Work Item: Irrigation System Monitoring and Reporting, Specifications: Notify COUNTY of any damage to the irrigation system or suspected performance issues at a park and recreation site within one (1) business day.
