San Joaquin County is seeking bids from qualified and interested contractors for the following project titled, Parks & Recreation Landscape Maintenance Services, identified under Solicitation ID: 25092-A. Work is to be performed near 44 N San Joaquin St, Stockton, CA 95202, USA in San Joaquin County.
General Project Description
The County of San Joaquin's General Services Department, Parks and Recreation Division, is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to provide comprehensive landscape and maintenance services for its park and recreation facilities. This Request for Proposal (RFP) aims to establish agreements for the regular routine maintenance of approximately 606 acres of park, open space, a zoo, and other recreational facilities across 16 park sites. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, extensive turf care (mowing, edging, string trimming, clipping removal), meticulous planter area maintenance (debris and weed control, proper pruning using International Society of Arboriculture methods), upkeep of playground and horseshoe pit areas (debris removal, wood fiber raking), maintenance of dirt areas on baseball/softball fields, cleaning of hardscape areas, precise tree care (pruning branches, removing dead/damaged growth, maintaining stakes and ties), efficient green waste disposal, prompt reporting of irrigation system issues, and systematic reporting of graffiti and vandalism. Contractors are required to furnish all necessary labor, materials, tools, equipment, services, and transportation to ensure the overall health and usability of all plant materials and facilities.

- Quantity: - Unit: - Work Item: Turf String Trimming, Specifications: Reduce string trimming effort. Use vertical cut around valve boxes or drain inlets. Do not use around tree bases; chemical control preferred.

Complete pruning at least three (3) times per year (Jan-Apr, May-Aug, Sep-Dec) on a scheduled basis. Remove old or dead growth and/or spent flowers.

- Quantity: - Unit: - Work Item: Shrub Replacement, Specifications: Remove and replace dead shrubs with a similar species within thirty (30) days. Contractor to replace at their own expense if shrubs die due to their work performance.

- Quantity: - Unit: - Work Item: Tree Pruning, Specifications: Prune branches below 8 ft, branches interfering with pedestrian or vehicle traffic (below 14 ft), suckers, waterspouts, undesirable growth, dead or damaged branches, and any branches deemed a hazard. Do not prune saplings without COUNTY direction.
- Quantity: - Unit: - Work Item: Tree Stake and Tie Maintenance, Specifications: Maintain existing stakes and ties. Inspect to prevent girdling or bark wounds. Install and maintain additional stakes/ties (County to provide). Contractor to replace damaged stakes at their expense.
- Quantity: - Unit: - Work Item: Leaf Clearing, Specifications: Do not clear leaves from under existing oak trees. Blow leaves from nearby sidewalks or walkways into existing oak tree areas unless directed otherwise.
