General Project Description

This project involves the isolation, inspection, assessment, removal, and replacement of an existing copper pipe and associated valve systems within the concrete structure of the Whale Rock Reservoir intake tower and control building. The work includes isolating the concrete stilling basin of Whale Rock Dam from the natural creek using temporary dams, conducting dewatering operations for inspection and repairs, and providing shop drawings for all piping, materials, appurtenances, and field-verified model numbers for existing butterfly valves and actuators. No grading or excavation operations are authorized, and no erosion control measures are anticipated unless field conditions change. The contractor must coordinate with Whale Rock Staff for draining and filling the intake tower.
