General Project Description
The County of San Mateo Parks Department is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide, install, and maintain user-friendly, automated self-service firewood dispensing systems at various county parks. The project aims to enhance visitor convenience and improve operational efficiency for firewood sales, particularly for camping and picnic activities. The selected vendor will be responsible for the supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance of the dispensing systems, including a guaranteed response time for critical issues. The scope also includes tracking firewood inventory, regular resupply of firewood bundles (approximately 1 cubic foot per bundle) that meet quality and environmental compliance standards, and providing technical support and training for County staff. The systems must be constructed from durable, weather-resistant materials, equipped with secure locking mechanisms, automated dispensing, integrated PCI-DSS compliant payment systems (credit/debit, mobile, cash), and reliable internet connectivity for remote monitoring and data synchronization with existing park management software. All electrical components must comply with UL standards, and the system must be ADA compliant and conform to local, state, and federal regulations for vending machines and outdoor installations. Deliveries of firewood will occur between 8 AM and 4 PM on weekdays to Memorial County Park, located at 9500 Pescadero Creek Road, Loma Mar, California 94021, and other designated park locations. Deliveries must use equipped trucks with tarps/covers to prevent pest infestation.
