General Project Description

This project entails slip-out repair and bank stabilization near 1780 Higgins Canyon Road in San Mateo County, covering a length of approximately 200 feet, including all appurtenant work. The scope involves general items such as mobilization, construction staking, traffic maintenance, water pollution control, temporary creek diversion, and construction waste management. Site preparation includes demolition, clearing, grubbing, tree removal (6" to 24"), and installation of exclusion and silt fences, as well as tree protection. Earthworks will encompass soil and debris excavation, structural backfill, dewatering, and placement of aggregate base (Class 2). Soldier pile wall construction involves boring holes (30" diameter) in both soil and rock, installation of 30" concrete piles, HP12x84 steel beams, structural concrete lagging, geocomposite wall drains, and ground anchors. Creek restoration and bank repair will include rock slope protection, rootwads, helical soil anchors, anchor boulders, specimen boulders, and plantings with permanent erosion control protection. Road repair components consist of asphalt dike (Type F), asphalt concrete (Type A HMA), and a guardrail and terminal system.
