General Project Description

The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors for the safe and efficient pick-up, transportation, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous chemical waste generated by SMCO facilities. The contractor must ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations governing hazardous waste management, including RCRA and OSHA standards. Services include waste characterization, packaging and labeling, safe transportation, disposal at licensed facilities, and detailed record-keeping. The contractor will also provide scheduled pick-ups, adjust schedules as needed, offer training to SMCO staff on waste management, and maintain open communication. Emergency services must be available.
