Santa Clarita City is seeking bids from qualified and interested contractors for the following project titled, Corporate Yard Evaporative Cooler Replacement, identified under Solicitation ID: Bid # PW-25-26-M1047, City Project No. M1047. Work is to be performed near 25663 Avenue Stanford, Valencia, CA 91355, USA in Los Angeles County.

General Project Description

The project involves the removal and replacement of three (3) existing 14,760 CFM indirect evaporative coolers with three (3) new Champion Coolers, Model AD20012, on the roof of the City's Corporate Yard building. The scope includes demolition and disposal of existing units, repairs to the roof substructure (plywood, framing), resizing equipment platforms, flashing, and extensive repairs to the roofing membrane to ensure a water-tight seal. It also includes the assembly, lifting, placement, and strapping of new cooler units, re-connecting existing electrical, plumbing, and ducting, and installing new 6-hour control time switches. The City will purchase the new evaporative coolers; the bid is for their installation and associated work.

  • Quantity: 3  Unit: EA  Work Item: Removal of the existing Champion Cooler model AD20012 from the current roof location, including City-approved disposal.
  • Quantity: 1  Unit: LS  Work Item: Repairs to the roof substructure, including but not limited to – plywood sheet replacement, roof framing dimensional lumber replacement, resized equipment platform to accommodate the fitted equipment stand, and required hardware replacement, which will be detailed in the Structural Plans issued by Addendum.
  • Quantity: 3  Unit: EA  Work Item: Provide an equipment stand fitted to the unit, securely mount it to the equipment platform, and flash the roofing to the stand legs, making a water-tight seal.
  • Quantity: 1  Unit: LS  Work Item: Make all repairs to the roofing membrane, after the roof substructure repairs and equipment platforms are completed, and again after the evaporative cooler equipment stand is set in place (stand legs flashing to the roofing material).
  • Quantity: 3  Unit: EA  Work Item: Assembling, lifting, moving, placing, and strapping the new evaporative cooler unit to the equipment platform.
  • Quantity: 3  Unit: EA  Work Item: Re-connecting all previous existing connections, with any modifications required – electrical, plumbing, and ducting.
  • Quantity: 1  Unit: LS  Work Item: Any Adjustments to ductwork, as described in the M-E-P Plans Sheets M1.00, M2.00, and M3.00.
  • Quantity: 3  Unit: EA  Work Item: Provide a NEW 6-hour control time switch at each existing control location, per E2.00.
  • Quantity: 3  Unit: EA  Work Item: Commissioning of the unit to stated performance specifications, per the Plan Sheet M4.00.
  • Quantity: 1  Unit: LS  Work Item: Mandatory Off-Hours Crane Activities (Weeknight/Weekend) Due to Safety Constraints.
  • Quantity: 1  Unit: LS  Work Item: ALLOWANCE – Extensive Structural Wood Member Repairs/Replacements, excluding specifically identified structural framing and decking repairs as will be detailed in the Structural Plans issued by Addendum, Value: $30,000.
