General Project Description

The City of Santa Monica is seeking bids for a five (5) year firm-fixed contract to provide periodic cleaning and hazardous waste disposal services for its sewer diversion units. The work involves pumping, cleaning, and disposing of both liquid and solid wastes from various end-of-line Best Management Practices (BMP) stormwater runoff treatment systems, Continuous Deflection Separator (CDS) units, Contech Stormwater baffle units, and oil-water interceptor units at multiple locations. The contractor must provide a Super Sucker truck, hoses, and other equipment to clean sub-surface vaults up to 50 feet deep. Staff performing work in sewer diversion units must be trained in confined space entry and able to operate a full-face respirator. The service requires 24/7 availability for treatment unit cleaning and emergencies, with specific response times for non-scheduled/non-emergency (3 hours) and emergency (2 hours) cleaning. The contractor must also provide monthly reports on waste generated.
