General Project Description

This project involves the furnishing and installation of a 250 KW / 506 KWH Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) for the South San Francisco Library, Parks & Recreation Building located at 901 Civic Campus Way. The BESS will be a factory-assembled, self-contained outdoor enclosure situated within the existing parking lot. The system includes integral HVAC, battery management, and fire detection/suppression systems, and will be interconnected with the facility’s electrical distribution system to manage peak electrical demand, improve energy performance, and provide standby power during utility outages. The scope of work also includes associated equipment pad installation, trenching, electrical equipment installation and interconnections, controls integration, coordination with existing building systems, wall penetrations, waterproofing, exterior finish, metal fabrications and supports, concrete work, and general site work.
