General Project Description

This Design/Build project involves the design, procurement, construction, and integration of a microgrid system at the Lang Ranch Pump Station. The primary purpose is to enable off-grid autonomous operation during utility power outages, provide utility energy arbitrage, and reduce peak demand. The scope includes civil, structural, and electrical design; procurement of essential microgrid equipment such as a new diesel generator, switchboard, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), and meters; and construction and integration of data acquisition, electrical infrastructure, control hardware/software, monitoring software, and SCADA integration. The system must ensure continuous 24/7 operation for critical pumping equipment (approximately 100kW load) with a minimum 48-hour continuous runtime. The contractor is also responsible for all permitting requirements and one year of Operations and Maintenance, with an option for three additional years.
