General Project Description
This project is a Request for Proposals/Qualifications (RFP/Q) seeking professional engineering and design services for the Route 23/Olsen Road Bike Improvements Project (CI 5724). The scope includes preliminary engineering, environmental documents, right-of-way, utilities, Plans, Specifications, and Estimate (PS&E) development, and design support services during construction. The primary purpose is to enhance bicyclist safety along approximately 1,500 linear feet of Olsen Road at and around the SR-23 undercrossing and its associated ramp intersections. Key work items include installing new eastbound Class II bike lane striping, increasing visibility of bike conflict areas, and modifying the traffic signal at the SR-23 Northbound Off-Ramp to incorporate bike signal phasing. All improvements must comply with current Caltrans Standard Plans and Specifications.
