General Project Description

This project is for the Phase I improvements at Kennedy Park in Union City, California. The scope of work includes the rehabilitation of parking lot pavement surfaces, base, and subbase, along with site drainage and associated facilities, including the installation of a new bioswale area. ADA improvements, irrigation for new vegetation, and tree planting are also required. The work encompasses various civil engineering tasks such as concrete demolition, curb and gutter demolition, landscape removal, roadway excavation, installation of PCC sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and driveways, hot mix asphalt placement, aggregate base recycling, utility adjustments (sanitary sewer manhole and cleanout covers), bioretention area construction (excavation, deep curb, deep curb & gutter, overflow inlet modification, perforated pipe, cleanout, planting, soil medium, irrigation, planting establishment, lateral bracing, energy dissipator), tree installation, thermoplastic traffic stripes, thermoplastic markings (symbols & legends), sign & post installation, sign & post resetting, potholing, and root barrier installation. All work must conform to Caltrans Standard Specifications and City of Union City Standard Specifications.
