General Project Description

The University of California, Berkeley is seeking an executive architect to provide schematic design, design development, construction documents, permitting, construction administration, and other support services. This project aims to convert the former Physics departmental library study area and stacks area into a general assignment classroom and an adjacent shared study area for faculty and students. It is part of the General Assignment Classroom Renewal Program, focusing on physical and technological upgrades and modernization of teaching spaces. The architect's initial efforts will include verifying and confirming the program, scope, and budget established in a preceding Conceptual Study to guide subsequent design phases and bidding document development.
