General Project Description

The University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley) is seeking professional services for facility planning, programming, and design related to the seismic strengthening, renovation, and potential expansion of the Recreational Sports Facility (RSF). The project involves a multi-phase scope of work, starting with a conceptual program definition, technical feasibility studies, and a conceptual construction cost estimate in Phase 1. Subsequent phases, contingent on funding, may include preparing a Detailed Project Program (DPP) in Phase 2, and performing schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding, and construction administration services in Phases 3 and 4, respectively. The goal is to enhance the RSF, which is a key indoor recreation facility for UC Berkeley students, faculty, and staff, and to improve the public realm along Bancroft Way.
