General Project Description

This project involves retrofitting two existing Teaching and Research Greenhouses to support the Experimental Mesocosm Research and Training (MERT) program focused on sediment remediation. The work within the greenhouses includes adding containment curbs, filling gaps in existing concrete slabs, leveling and sealing slab surfaces, removing portions of siding, installing utility sinks pumping to an aboveground storage tank, and updating the electrical system. Site work includes installing a chain-link fence with slats and gates, constructing an accessible path, adding culverts beneath a new sidewalk, sloping a concrete pad for a water tank, installing a storm drain, and providing dust control and erosion protection. All efforts are made to ensure equipment and products are American-made.
