General Project Description

The University of California, Merced is seeking Executive Architecture Services for the design and construction of an outdoor, two-court lighted sand volleyball facility. This facility is intended for student recreational use and club-level competitions. The project site, currently a lawn area on campus, requires construction to comply with the 2025-2027 USA Volleyball Sand Volleyball Rules Book (Rule 1). The architectural scope will include integrating the new facility within the existing campus environment, accommodating potential additional grading and retaining wall(s) due to sloped areas, and designing revisions to pedestrian pathways and adjacent landscaping.
