General Project Description
The University of California, Merced is soliciting Statements of Qualifications from architecture firms to provide programming, design, and cost estimating consultant services for the new ASUCM Student Union Building. This is a pre-design phase for an anticipated 46,500 gross square foot facility intended to be a welcoming and active hub for students, located at the south edge of campus. The project will incorporate Universal Design principles, be all-electric, and strive for LEED Platinum certification. The selected firm will lead the development of a Detailed Project Program (DPP), which includes defining programmatic needs, room data sheets, adjacency diagrams, functional requirements, equipment needs, site requirements, a conceptual site layout, test fit, stacking diagrams, and a cost estimate, all while integrating sustainability goals and adhering to campus design standards.
