Unofficial Notice of Invitation to Bid (NIB)
Valley Center-Pauma Unified School District is seeking bids from qualified and interested contractors for the following project titled, VCHS Gym Roof Restoration, identified under Solicitation ID: 2025-26-01. Work is to be performed near 31322 Cole Grade Rd, Valley Center, CA 92082, USA in San Diego County.
General Project Description
This project involves the restoration of the VCHS Gym Roof. The scope of work includes the removal of the existing roof down to the insulation, disposal of removed materials, removal of non-functional equipment, and repair of damaged insulation (including 7% replacement in the base bid). Following preparation, the contractor will mechanically fasten ½" Densdeck prime coverboard, install crickets, apply rosin paper and HPR Glasbase shingles. A modified bituminous membrane roofing system will be applied, consisting of an 80 mil modified base sheet (Stressbase P80) and a Stressply Plus FR Mineral cap ply, both set in type IV hot asphalt. Flashing work for all areas, including stucco walls, internal walls, equipment, and parapet walls (using SBS-modified flashing ply and cap ply, 22 gauge galvanized skirt metal, and kynar coping caps), is required. The roof will then be surfaced with specific coatings (Pyramic LO and Cool Sil for ponding areas with Title 24 white minerals). Additional work includes installing new 22 gauge galvanized skirt metal, standing seam restoration, lead flashing for penetrations, re-mounting conduit on rubber blocking, installing new vent covers, sealing metal pans/vents/air handler equipment, and pressure washing and coating internal block walls. The project must comply with various ASTM standards, Factory Mutual (FM) requirements, and California Title 24 Energy Efficient Standards.
