General Project Description

This project involves the comprehensive roof replacement at Fire Station 36. The scope includes selective demolition, removal, transportation, and legal disposal of existing roofing materials. The contractor is responsible for installing new roofing components strictly in accordance with Garland’s published requirements to secure a 30-year warranty. Key elements of the work involve maintaining and protecting existing rooftop features such as communication towers, guy wires, and PV panels, and coordinating closely with an HVAC contractor for the replacement of rooftop mechanical units. This coordination includes the removal and replacement of sleepers or curbs, and providing watertight flashing transitions for new HVAC equipment, ensuring all penetrations, condensate piping, and mechanical interfaces are integrated into a fully sealed, watertight roofing system. The contractor must also furnish and install all necessary protective materials, ensure adequate dust control, provide thorough cleanup of all work areas, and comply with Ventura County’s Construction and Demolition Waste Management Plan requirements.
