Vernon City is seeking bids from qualified and interested contractors for the following project titled, Station A Control Room HVAC Replacement and Air Quality Improvements, identified under Solicitation ID: -. Work is to be performed near 4963 S Soto St, Vernon, CA 90058, USA in Los Angeles County.
General Project Description
This project involves the replacement and improvement of the HVAC system and air quality in the Station A Control Room for the Vernon Public Utilities Department. The scope includes replacing two existing AC units, improving ductwork for efficiency and air quality, installing air cleaning equipment (for sub-micron particles, allergens, gases, odors), and integrating Germicidal UVC lamps (for bacteria/viruses/mold) and Oxidation UVV lamps (for gases/odors). A self-adjustable fresh air supply (economizer with damper) will be installed, providing at least 6% fresh filtered outside air. Specific tasks include demolition and hauling away of existing units and ductwork, reusing some existing ductwork components, installing pressure-treated lumber for unit elevation on the roof deck, and insulating passive ventilation openings. The project also requires subcontracted concrete cutting/coring for ductwork openings, airflow balancing, and HERS testing (Home Energy Rating System) to meet Mechanical City Permit needs. Procurement and installation of specific Trane package units, Trane Ductwork Economizers, Honeywell T10 Thermostats with Wireless Temperature Sensors, Pristine Air Polarized Media Air Cleaners, and Pristine Air Remote Mounted UVC/UVV Lamps are core bid items, along with necessary low-voltage control wiring, conduit, drainage lines, and final ductwork fabrication and installation. Contractors must obtain all necessary local city permits.
