General Project Description

This project involves the replacement of two existing AC units and improvement of ductwork in Station A Control Room to enhance system efficiency, flow distribution, and air quality. The scope includes installation of air cleaning equipment for sub-micron particles, airborne allergens, gases, and odors; germicidal UVC lamps to control bacteria, viruses, and mold; oxidation UVV lamps to oxidize gases and remove odors; and a self-adjustable fresh air supply (economizer with damper) providing at least 6% fresh filtered outside air. Work also requires demolition and hauling away of existing units and airflow distribution ductwork, reuse of existing supply/return-air cans and grilles, installation of pressure treated lumber to elevate new package units, and covering passive ventilation openings in the control room ceiling with duct board insulation. Subcontracted services include concrete cutting and coring to enlarge HVAC ductwork openings, airflow balancing, and HERS testing. The project also requires obtaining necessary City permits and coordinating City inspections.
