General Project Description

This project involves the replacement of existing asphalt paving and ramps around Building 66 A&B at the Victor Valley Community College District. The scope of work includes the demolition and removal of existing asphalt pavement and wood ramps, excavation of dirt and subgrade, compaction to 95%, import and compaction of Class 2 natural base, construction of new ADA-compliant concrete ramps with curbs and thickened edges, building a new concrete stair set with cast-in-place aluminum treads, installation of new 4-inch thick concrete pavement with rebar over a 4-inch base, and the inclusion of expansion joints and caulking. Additional work includes removing and replacing parking bumpers, core drilling for and installing new hot-dipped galvanized handrails for ramps and the stair set, installing a new truncated dome, a new curb with railing, and site cleanup activities such as restriping, pressure washing, touch-up painting, and temporary fence/toilet removal.
