General Project Description
The City of Watsonville Public Works & Utilities Department is requesting responses from qualified firms to provide construction management (CM) and inspection services for the Wastewater Treatment Facility (WWTF) Headworks and Influent Pump Station Improvements Project. This includes pre-bid services, construction management, and inspection services through the duration of the project, which is estimated at 30 months. The existing Headworks and Influent Pump Station (IPS), constructed in 1985, are experiencing degradation. The project's purpose is to improve the reliability and cost-effectiveness of the City's wastewater system. The construction scope involves building a new influent pump station structure with four constant speed and two variable speed submersible pumps with influent flow meters, and a screening structure with two multi-rake screens. The CM services encompass administrative controls, schedule and cost management, project oversight, and site inspection to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.

Specifications: Daily observation reports with photographs, document field conditions and construction conflicts, confirm material installed matches specifications, collect/validate weigh tickets and material tags, notify contractor of deficient work, monitor stormwater BMPs and site housekeeping, coordinate quality assurance sampling/testing, track contractor extra work reports.

Specifications: Document/track progress and compliance with project schedule, organize/attend/arrange equipment training for City staff, review O&M manuals, organize preliminary/final site walks, prepare corrective work item lists and punchlists, review final record drawings (CAD), assist with SRF closeout documentation, prepare project files for archival.
