General Project Description
This project involves the progressive design-build of a new Fire Station #4 in Woodland, California. The scope includes two phases: (1) preconstruction and design services and (2) final design and construction services. The new facility is intended to be modern, durable, and low-maintenance, serving current operational needs while allowing for future growth. It will operate 24/7, housing on-duty personnel, with interior spaces including private dormitories, restrooms, showers, kitchen, dining, dayroom, training areas, administrative offices, and a fitness room. The design must prioritize firefighter health and safety, feature emergency power, accommodate renewable energy installations (e.g., solar panels), and include communications infrastructure (e.g., radio tower). Preconstruction services encompass detailed cost estimating, budget validation, continuous cost management, programming, scheduling, project criteria refinement, schematic design, constructability reviews, value engineering, agency permitting coordination, construction phasing and logistics development, site planning, quality assurance, quality control, and competitive procurement of trade contractors.
