General Project Description

This project involves the DWR Urban Drought Relief – Turf Replacement. The work consists of removing approximately 157,000 square feet of non-functional turf from ten City-owned properties within city limits. The turf will be replaced with drought-tolerant plants and water-wise irrigation. Key tasks include excavation of existing turf and irrigation, installation of new drought-tolerant plantings and drip irrigation systems, installation of decomposed granite paths and concrete mow curbs, general grading and earthwork, and construction of retaining walls with drainage improvements. The project also includes site mobilization, temporary construction controls, erosion and sediment control, and a 120-day landscape maintenance period.
