General Project Description

This project involves a progressive Design-Build approach for the renovation of approximately 10,000 GSF of existing space on Levels 3 and 4 of the West Tower of the East Campus Medical Center (ECMC) at UC San Diego. The renovations will establish a patient-centered, efficient clinical outpatient behavioral health hub to expand access to services including Partial Hospitalization Programs, an Interventional Psychiatry Suite, a Behavioral Health Workforce Development Hub, and Clinical Behavioral Health Trainee Offices. The scope includes creating code-compliant clinical spaces, replacing and modernizing Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC), Electrical, and Building Automation Systems (BAS), replacing roofing, replacing rooftop air handling units, and upgrading to Non-Structural Performance Category 4D. Early demolition permitting will be required.
