General Project Description

The project involves the repair of a leaking 20" welded steel recycled water line on Curtis Ave., situated within a utility easement adjacent to the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) and Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) railroad tracks at 777 Gibraltar Drive, Milpitas, California. The scope includes site preparation, excavation and shoring, coordination with existing utilities, cutting and video inspection of the recycled water line (especially under railroad tracks), installation of a new 20" isolation valve, removal of shoring and backfill, and pavement restoration to Caltrans and City of Milpitas standards. Exploratory work is central to determining the leak's origin and the line's condition, with provisions for CIPP lining if feasible. The overall objective is to ensure the recycled water system is fully operational.
