General Project Description

The City Park Rebuild project aims to revitalize Corona's oldest park, City Park, located at 930 E. Sixth Street and spanning 20.54 acres. This extensive redevelopment will include the construction of a 70,000 sq ft single-story Community Center, a 9,000 sq ft Aquatic Center with multiple pools, and various recreational features such as a 150,000 sq ft multi-use field, splashpad, iconic playground, two exterior basketball courts, an "All-Wheel Friendly Plaza" skate park, and a botanic garden. Additionally, the project will involve infrastructure improvements including a 1-mile walking loop, four picnic shelters, a pre-engineered restroom building, landscaping and irrigation (using a reclaimed water system), new parking lots equipped with EV chargers, comprehensive LED park lighting, secured electrical connections, and the installation of amenities like benches, drinking fountains, dog waste stations, and security cameras. The project involves general building construction, heavy civil engineering, and specialized site work.
