Fairfax Town is seeking bids from qualified and interested contractors for the following project titled, FIRE STATION 21 REMODEL PROJECT, identified under Solicitation ID: 53-5. Work is to be performed near 10 Park Rd, Fairfax, CA 94930, USA in Marin County.
General Project Description
This project involves the remodeling of the existing Fire Station 21. The work includes remodeling the upstairs to enlarge the kitchen, relocate one bathroom, add a second bathroom, and add a bedroom, along with modifications to the stairwell to the second floor. Structural supports and a 1-hour fire separation between the Apparatus Bay and Living Quarters will be added. A new TPO roofing system will be constructed, and the existing generator will be replaced. Work must be performed within spaces containing active 911 and radio system communication equipment, maintaining continuous 24-hour, 7-day operation. A portion of the Apparatus Bay must remain accessible and operable for fire vehicles and equipment. Key trades include demolition, concrete work, metal installations (railings), extensive rough and finish carpentry, thermal and moisture protection (reroofing, weather barriers, firestopping, sealants), openings (doors, frames, windows, hardware, glazing), finishes (gypsum board, metal framing, ceramic tiling, resilient flooring, carpeting, interior and exterior painting, staining), specialties (panel signage, toilet/bath/laundry accessories, prefabricated showers, fire protection cabinets, fire extinguishers), various equipment (residential appliances), furnishings (pleated window shades, simulated stone countertops), plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems.
