General Project Description
The County of Calaveras Department of Public Works is seeking proposals from independent, licensed, professional consultant firms to provide on-call guardrail inspection, repair, and replacement services throughout Calaveras County. The selected contractor will be responsible for inspecting, documenting, removing damaged components, furnishing, and installing new guardrails and crash cushion systems at various county-wide locations as needed. The scope includes providing all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and traffic control, adhering to County, MUTCD 2014, and Caltrans Standard Specifications and Details. Bridge work, such as the removal, repair, and replacement of metal bridge rail, transition railing, bridge approach guardrail, and associated bridge concrete damaged by vehicle impacts or similar incidents, is also included. Key objectives are to ensure prompt guardrail repairs for roadway safety, maintain compliance with applicable safety standards, provide timely emergency and routine repair responses, and minimize traffic disruptions.
