General Project Description
The County of Marin is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors for "On Call Hazardous Material Abatement, Testing, Inspection, and Industrial Hygienist Services" for County facilities. This opportunity involves awarding two separate contracts: one for comprehensive abatement services and another for inspection and testing services. Abatement services include the removal, repair, encapsulation, enclosure, packaging, and cleanup of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs), lead-based paint (LBP), and mold-affected building materials, which also covers the proper disposal of all generated wastes. Inspection and Industrial Hygienist services involve conducting onsite surveys, collecting bulk, surface, and air samples to analyze for asbestos, lead, and mold, submitting samples to accredited laboratories, comparing analytical findings against legal exposure limits, providing comprehensive reports with actionable recommendations, and performing clearance testing after abatement work. The scope may also extend to other hazardous materials such as Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs), Crystalline Silica Dust, and Mercury.
