General Project Description

This project involves the realignment of North San Pedro Road upslope for approximately 150 feet in San Rafael, near Milepost 4.45. The scope includes the demolition of a portion of the existing roadway, excavation of the hillside south of the road, construction of a soil nail wall (up to 11 feet high), reconstruction of the roadway along a new alignment, and the installation of a guardrail system. Additional work items listed include mobilization, water pollution control, temporary traffic control, pavement grinding, hot mix asphalt (HMA) resurfacing, aggregate base placement, painted traffic striping, earthwork (export cut), site restoration, erosion control measures (fiber roll, gravel-filled bags), and final cleanup. The project will adhere to Caltrans and Marin County construction standards including specific water pollution control and traffic management directives.
