Marin County is seeking bids from qualified and interested contractors for the following project titled, Marin County Veterans’ Memorial Auditorium Auditorium Seating Re-Upholstering Project, identified under Solicitation ID: 41C2302. Work is to be performed near 3501 Civic Center Dr, San Rafael, CA 94903, USA in Marin County.

General Project Description

This project involves the re-upholstery of fixed theatre chairs in the Orchestra, retractable seats at the rear, and seats in storage within the Marin County Veterans’ Memorial Auditorium. The scope includes removal, transportation, reupholstery, new foam manufacturing, delivery, and complete installation of all reupholstered chairs. Electrical work for disconnecting and reconnecting aisle lights by a licensed electrician is also required. The project includes replacement of seat and back padding material with polyethylene foam, new hardwood armrests and aisle end panels, and new cup holders in the orchestra section. All installed seating will be inspected, adjusted, and cleaned, with a full turnover to the Owner once complete. The project is to be completed in two phases: Orchestra seats first, then retractable seats.

  • Quantity: -  Unit: EA  Work Item: Provide and install new hardwood end panels at orchestra locations. Specifications: Attached to existing end standard with screws; hardwood maple or red oak.
  • Quantity: -  Unit: EA  Work Item: Provide and install new custom cup holders between orchestra chair backs, Specifications: Metal blade type with wire circle and wire bottom, 3-1/2” top diameter, 2-1/2” bottom diameter with V bend, 2-1/2” tall, steel plate “blade” attaches to chair standard at seat back wing bolts, new seat back bolts in correct length to accommodate cup holder thickness, brass color. (Note: Front and rear rows will not have cup holders; not block passing space).
