General Project Description

This project involves providing comprehensive districtwide trash, recycling, and organic waste services for the Del Mar Union School District. The scope includes waste disposal, processing of recyclables (e.g., green waste, mixed paper, plastics, glass, metals, confidential paper, cardboard, co-mingled beverage containers), and organic waste collection in compliance with California's Senate Bill 1383, including providing color-coded bins and recovering edible food. The successful contractor will manage all waste streams from ten district facilities (nine elementary schools and one maintenance building), optimize current hauling and disposal services to reduce costs, develop a detailed tracking/reporting system, and potentially handle occasional waste streams like e-waste or construction/demolition debris, which may be separately reimbursed. The awarded vendor is required to provide bin containers equipped with locking wheels.
